Money for Madagascar - consultancy and writing

Pro-bono and paid strategic consultancy from 2011 to 2021 which included:
Consultancy:
• Strategic, creative and collaborative problem-solving, drawing on sector knowledge, experience and market intelligence with foresight to support and add value to CEO thought processes.
Examples of specific work streams include:
• Consulting with the CEO to help her identify her personal and organisational core values and ambitions to underpin the ten-year charity strategy and goals.

• Encouraging the charity to think bigger in strategic preparation for zeitgeist change around COP26, for example, to:
- Approach national funders, such as the UK government through DEFRA.
- Set ambitious targets such as planting a million trees over twenty years.
- Fundraise through brokers in addition to individuals.
- Consider role as sector leaders, for example in rolling out developed models.
• Making new connections, identifying opportunities and leads and connecting the charity to them.
Writing:
• Initiated interview with CEO and captured a snapshot of key organisational learning and achievements of the charity to date.
• Wrote a commissioned marketing article to build organisational reputation, visibility and attract new supporters.
These documents became assets for the organisation on which to base communications, strategic planning, and evidence in support of forest restoration funding bids.

RSPB - Equality and Diversity Adviser
• Advised at early stages of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity agenda at national level.
• Suggestions and insight informed management training and marketing strategies.
• Wrote content for publication, for example a collaborative intranet article for International Women's Day.

• Initiated and followed through with a personalized letter-writing process to over a thousand applicants annually.
• Created and developed underpinning project process.

• Developed Careers and Alumni project in partnership with the Careers Tutor and wider team to create a tailored service for students studying in the Environment Centre.
